For love of ice cream-with Yahoo!

My passion for ice cream goes far beyond just making gelato ice cream recipes, creating and updating my site of ice cream .... I like studying statistics for visitors to the website and understand who is looking for what, where, how and why. Is an amazing thing to get an idea in the minds of people about a certain topic-in this case ICE CREAM.

Study my Google Analytics reports for several years, I know quite a deep into the data layer-where visitors come from, in which numbers, such as the main keywords they use, the content most popular and most popular sources of traffic (search engines, referring sites etc.).

A statistic that has been consistent for a long time now is that Google is the most important search engine to provide traffic to my site; day after day after day, Google outscores all other search engines from a long way ... There's only one day in the past 4 years where another search engine Google has outscored with traffic to my website ... until recently.

On 28 July, I had a ' double take ' when I looked at the stats. There was something I had never seen before, not expecting to see.

Yahoo has posted a huge 28,000 visitors in 24 hours! That is 4.5 times more visitors than Google usually provides daily in this time of year. In addition, I won't cost you a penny!

How come?Well, because I noticed this push massive traffic on the same day, as was happening, I was a bit ' live ' digging and, Yes, I found out how and why did Yahoo!.

I went to http://www.yahoo.com/and there staring me in the face I was ' trend now ' .... a small list of keywords that, according to Yahoo!, were more popular for that day. number 3 was ' ice cream recipes?.So I clicked on the link and sent me to the page of results for the keyword search Yahoo!.The number 1 was my site-bingo! I had found the answer to the puzzle. very simply, people using Yahoo that day were only intrigued by because ice cream recipes would be popular and, assuming it could be some interesting news, click through and visited the first site listed-mine! So there you have ... simple and honest curiosity was the key-and what's important, but it was from people who perhaps think never normally ice cream recipes.

So, if someone tells you not to seriously in your Internet marketing strategy of Yahoo!, stop and reconsider. now you know better. thank you labels of Yahoo!: Analytics, ice cream making, internet marketing, yahoo
